BREWERY “HOPP”ENINGS: Bushwakker Head brewer, Michael Gaetz, reports that our new LEMON LIME TART ALE, SUMMER WHEAT and KAI’S MUNICH HELLES are currently available on tap, in our offsale and for growler fills too. A batch of PONCE DE LEON BLACKBERRY RASPBERRY WHEAT beer is making its way through the brewery. In addition to taking our beer home in glass bottles and 2 litre jugs direct from our brewpub, you can find a varying selection of 650 ml bottles of Bushwakker beer in a number of REGINA SLGA stores.

Thank you Regina! Of the dozen wins we received in the 2022 “Best of Food” Regina Awards, the BEST LOCAL FRIES win is a fun category. This ultimate comfort food is simplicity at its finest. A humble potato is first hand-chipped, then fried, and finally tossed in a special seasoning salt blend before being served hot and fresh. Goes great with our house-made gravy, mayo or even honey dill dip. A perfect match for a cold Bushwakker pint!

This Weekend’s August 26th & 27th Special Dining Feature is a CHICKEN BOXTY for $19.95. Our Saturday CLASSIC STEAK & A PINT SPECIAL will also be available. Our Monday and Wednesday WINGS & A PINT SPECIAL and Tuesday PIZZA & A PINT SPECIAL are also great value deals.

Our SASK CRAFT GUEST TAP is currently pouring the brand new FRUIT CUP IPA from Black Bridge Brewing. Next up is another tasty Black Bridge brew, their PINEAPPLE WHEAT BURST.

AUGUST PREMIUM WINE FEATURES  This month’s wine features are the GOOD NATURED WINES from Ontario.  The red is a Merlot Gamay VQA and the white is a Crisp Chardonnay VQA.  Both are $8.95 for a glass and $23.95 for a half litre.

Our summer Blackberry Mead Release is winding down! Last chance for a mead fix before December! Much thanks to the many summer tourists who have stopped by this month to pick up some bottles of our famous mead.

First Canadian Brewery to be Powered by Solar Energy

From Brewers journal Canada

About an hour outside of Ottawa, there is a brewery that is looking to hold the title of the utmost sustainability.  Arbru Solar Brewery, in Mallorytown, Ontario, runs entirely on Vitamin D’s rays to keep it operating, claiming that it is the first company in Canada to do so.

Phil Audet, owner of Arbru Solar Brewery in Mallorytown, Ontario

“I wanted to be able to prove to people that things have changed, that the technology is there,” said Phil Audet, owner.

A severe storm took out the majority of Ontario lines back in May, but the beer at Audet’s brewery kept on brewing and they helped people in the community.

“We’ve actually helped people to charge cell phones,” he said.

A trend is growing in the industry. A brewery in New Brunswick uses solar energy to supplement its power needs, with the eventual goal of achieving net-zero emissions.  Audet hopes his solar-powered suds will show other business owners the rewards of going green. Or, if anything, demonstrating that it’s possible.

“We can go off the grid and make it happen,” he said.

TIME OUT

A mushroom walked into a pub. He asked the bartender to give him a beer. The bartender said, “I can’t, you’ll get too rowdy.” The mushroom then said, “Oh come on! When I drink, I’m a fun guy!”
