BREWERY “HOPP”ENINGS: Bushwakker Head brewer, Michael Gaetz, reports our seasonal UPENDI PINEAPPLE PASSION FRUIT ALE is now on tap and in our offsale. It is also available for growler fills. A batch of PONCE DE LEON BLACKBERRY/RASPBERRY ALE will soon be on tap. In addition to taking our beer home in glass bottles and 2 litre jugs direct from our pub, you can find a varying selection of 650 ml bottles of Bushwakker beer in a number of REGINA SLGA stores.
Our SASK CRAFT GUEST TAP is currently pouring the Nokomis Craft Ales OATMEAL STOUT. This will be followed by the Black Bridge NEW ENGLAND IPA from Swift Current.

Mar. 28: Monday Night Jazz & Blues. TDC INC. Funk, jazz, rock and blues from this group of distinguished gentlemen. “TDC” stands for “too damn cool.” 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM.
Mar. 30: Wednesday Folk Night. JAMES IRVING. Frontman from veteran local act, Nickletree, delivers roots rock. 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM.
Apr. 1: FIRST FIRKIN FRIDAY. Enjoy the pomp and circumstance of this longstanding Bushwakker monthly tradition! A piper from The Regina Police Services Pipes & Drums leads a small keg (the firkin) of special ale throughout the pub in a procession. A guest volunteer tapper is selected to wield the handmade wooden maul affectionately named, The Mighty Firkin Wakker, and attempts to tap the keg in one mighty blow! The suds-soaking spectacular takes place at 5:30 PM.
BUSHWAKKER “NEW NORMAL” NOTES
New Kitchen Hours! We are open Monday – Thursday from 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM. The kitchen closes at 9:00 PM and last call is at 9:15 PM. Fridays and Saturdays we are open from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM. The kitchen is open until 10:00 PM and last call is at 10:15 PM.
Reservations are accepted and encouraged. We accept a limited number of reservations as late as 6:00 PM every day except Fridays. Fridays we accept reservations as late as 3:00 PM. Call us at 306-359-7276 to secure your table. Our basement clubroom is also available for private parties. Call Kelly at 306-359-7276 for private room bookings.
The government of Saskatchewan announced that mandatory masking is no longer required in pubs and restaurants. Those who wish to continue wearing a mask are certainly welcome to do so. Hand sanitizer will be available and enhanced table cleaning protocols will continue. Our bar and serving staff will continue to wear masks for the time being. Reservations and takeout service will continue to be provided. If you wish to bring in a larger group, please call ahead at 306-359-7276 so we can designate the adequate space needed to avoid wait times and congestion in our front lobby.
Proof of Vaccination is no longer required for restaurant dining. However, we have received many customer comments stating they will be reluctant to visit us because of the recent health restriction changes. To put our vaccinated customers who may have immunodeficiency concerns, family health concerns or simply are not comfortable with the latest easing of health restrictions somewhat at ease, we will make our Arizona Room available to them. Customers choosing to sit in this room will be required to provide Proof of Vaccination and ID. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated customers are most certainly welcome at Bushwakker and are invited to sit in the main pub area. As businesses reopen and proof of vaccine mandates lift, a Toronto brewery is holding a so-called “ReSocialization Hour” to help ease people out of lockdowns and back into social environments.
Halo Brewery is holding ReSocialization Hour from Monday to Wednesday between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the tap room throughout the month of March, offering a communal table – dubbed the resocialization station — that’s set aside for anyone comfortable with meeting new people.
Halo Brewery Creative Director Sara Vinten told CTV’s Your Morning the initiative is to help ease people back into in-person interacting following two years of the COVID-19 pandemic and stringent public health restrictions.
“The thinking behind it was that [socializing] was something that came so naturally in places like ours, but it’s become so much harder these days because of all those additional anxieties and complex social cues that we now need to navigate,” Vinten explained in an interview on Thursday.
Vinten said the idea for the event came after having “a million conversations” with friends, families, customers, and team members on how to cope with COVID-19-related social challenges brought about by interacting virtually rather than in-person for such an extended period of time.
“It’s really a shared anxiety around learning to be social again after what’s been two years of actively avoiding each other,” Vinten said. “It’s really been this under acknowledged externality of the pandemic that has been our collective loss of humanity and sense of community.”
As a bar, Vinten said Halo Brewery is “built around community and conversation” and wanted to do something to help bring back those social elements for customers who are comfortable and ready to meet new people.
The brewery is also offering $15 beer flights during ReSocialization Hour for those who might need some “liquid courage.”
“If you’re ready to get out there, pull up a seat at the resocialization station and start a conversation,” Vinten said.
TIME OUT – The Wise Nun
Two nuns went to shop at the local village outdoor market. They were taking quite a while to find all the supplies they needed, so one Nun said, “Sister Mary it is getting dark and we are so far away from the convent.”
“I know Sister Rose and there is a man who has been following us around the whole marketplace today.”
“Oh! What does he want?”
“I fear that he wants his wicked way with us.”
“What can we do?!”
“Let’s separate. You go left and I will go right.”
The man was confused momentarily then he followed Sister Rose. Sister Mary reached the convent and became worried.
After another 30 minutes hour Sister Rose appeared.
“What happened?” asked Sister Mary
“I started to run and so did he.”
“He caught up with me.”
“Oh my God! And what did you do?”
“I lifted up my dress Sister!”
“And what did he do?”
“He dropped his pants.”
“It’s obvious isn’t it? A nun with her dress lifted up can run faster than a man with his pants down!”
