BUSHWAKKER “NEW NORMAL” NOTES

We are now open Monday to Saturday at 11:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM. Kitchen closes at 9:00 PM. We are still closed on Sundays at this time. We are very appreciative of the considerable increase in the number of our takeout food orders. Call us at 306-359-7276 or visit our online ordering page at https://bushwakker.com/shop-2021/

We appreciate your business very much! Due to our reduced seating capacity, we ask that customers limit their dining time so as many people as possible can comfortably enjoy our Real Saskatchewan Brewpub Experience, especially if we have a line-up! Thank you for your co-operation. Because we do not have many tables to spare for customers to use while they wait for their takeout orders, we kindly ask you place your orders ahead of time by calling us at 306-359-7276 so that we can have your order ready upon your arrival. We have added additional waiting spaces in our back common area. Just stand on a red “X” and we will bring your takeout order to you as soon as it is ready. We also can provide curbside pickup. Just let us know when you will be arriving at out back door and we’ll run it out to you.

We ask that our customers do not alter the position of our tables. We are required by the Saskatchewan Health Authority to have our tables placed two meters apart. We have measured the correct spacing so that we can maximize the numbers of tables present while complying with this health order. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Reservations are accepted and encouraged.  We accept limited reservations as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Saturday. Call at 306-359-7276 to secure your table. Please note under the current provincial guidelines the maximum number of people who can be seated at the same table has increased to six. Larger reservations must occupy more than one table and maintain two meters of physical distancing between each table. These measures will continue to loosen up as the province enters into Phase Two of the 2021 Reopening Roadmap Plan on June 20th.

Please continue to practice safe health and social distancing practices. Remain connected to one another and to us! In addition to this weekly newsletter, we are very active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Check-in with us often as we navigate these continually evolving times together. Try to support local businesses whenever possible. Be vigilant in your resolve to protect yourselves which in turn will protect others. Please don’t let your guard DOWN so the province can open back UP!

25 Years of Brewing Craft Beer in BC

From The Brewers Journal

This spring, Mt. Begbie Brewing Company celebrated their 25th anniversary of brewing!

Armed with his Ph.D in nuclear physics and a proven track record of exceptional home brews, Bart Larson and his wife Tracey left Vancouver and opened their first location in Revelstoke B.C. In April of 1996 they released Begbie Cream Ale, followed by Tall Timber Ale, Alpine Amber Ale (now Powerhouse Pale Ale) and High Country Kolsch.

A quarter century and dozens of awards later, Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. is now in their third location. The custom-built brewery overlooks the city of Revelstoke, boasting a fantastic view of the iconic Mt. Begbie. The brewery features a dedicated tasting room, expansive patio offering an artisan food menu and beers from 16 taps (including exclusive experimental brews), as well as a retail store with cold beer sales. Mt. Begbie has a team of ~20 staff dedicated to exceptional beers and service (two of their brewers have been part of the team for more than 12 years)!

“Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. will be celebrating a significant milestone this April – It’s hard to believe we have spent 25 years in blood, sweat and beers! We’d like to thank our customers, staff, community, friends & family for the support over the years. 2021 will be an exciting year as we roll out new beers and launch a fresh new look – watch out for upcoming charity support, contests & giveaways!” says Tracey Larson, owner.

Editor’s note: Now what other award-winning Canadian craft brewery is also celebrating a significant milestone this year and was founded by a gentleman with a strong background in physics? Hmmm…

TIME OUT – More Church Humour

These sentences (BLOOPERS) actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services:

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be ‘What Is Hell?’ Come early and listen to our choir practice.

Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.

Scouts are saving aluminium cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.

Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered.

The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM – prayer and medication to follow.

Who needs a six-pack when you can have a keg?? We have four sizes of kegs available and can even fill your kegs with fresh Bushwakker beer with only 24 hours’ notice. Call 306-359-7276 to get yours!
