BUSHWAKKER SEASONAL SUDS STATUS. There are still some bottles of MORK’S MEAD available in our offsale as part of our End of Summer Mead Release. Our seasonally available GOSE TO THE FINISH, SUMMER WHEAT, TANGERINE DRAGON FRUIT ALE, BOMBAY IPA and ENIGMA PALE ALE are currently pouring on tap and are in our offsale. There is also a batch of HARVEST OKTOBERFEST LAGER working its way through the brewery!
‘Twas a grand time at last week’s unveiling of our GOSE TO THE FINISH Queen City Marathon 25th Anniversary Ale. So many people had never tried a Gose Ale before and were impressed with its quenching complexity. This German-style blonde ale is gently tart and brewed with special ingredients including; wheat, coriander and a touch of pink Himalayan salt! We have a limited quantity available on tap and you can also enjoy a pint at Tommy’s Speakeatery, The Lobby, Pumpjacks Cathedral, The Knotted Thistle and O’Hanlon’s. It’s a city wide celebration of the QCM!
Our Sea of Green saw a Wave of Blue at last Sunday’s Labour Day Classic! Good thing Donna was wearing her signature Labour Day Classic t-shirt to keep those friendly Bomber fans in check! Much thanks to Global News Regina as well as CJME Newstalk Radio for their coverage of our annual Three Day Burger Battle. This was only opportunity of the entire year where football burger fans can show their support for their team by choosing their namesake burger. History has shown on a number of occasions that the burger which sells the best prior to the game is a strong indicator as to which team will win the Labour Day Classic. The tradition remained accurate as the Rider Burger outsold the Bomber Burger and also delivered an exciting game day victory! Bring on the Banjo Bowl!

A few weeks ago we shared an image of the newly installed trees down the street which is part of the beautification involved in the massive Dewdney Avenue Revitalization Project. A number of folks commented that the new trees would have a tough time surviving when surrounded by concrete and the roots would also damage the adjacent buildings. We recently had an informative chat with some Wappel Construction crew members who informed us they were in the process of installing some innovative interlocking lattice material which will allow for efficient irrigation as well as promote strong and safe tree root growth. Who knew? We do remind everyone that you can easily get to YOUR Bushwakker by using the rear entrance to the building and parking in the new free parking lot right across Cornwall Street. A piper from The Regina Police Services Pipes & Drums leads a keg (the firkin) of special ale throughout the pub in a procession. A guest volunteer tapper is selected to wield the handmade wooden maul affectionately named, The Mighty Firkin Wakker, and attempts to tap the keg in one mighty blow! The hopheads will be happy! Get ready for our first-ever MOSAIC DRY-HOPPED BOMBAY IPA! The suds-soaking spectacular takes place at 5:30 PM. 
Sept. 8: Monday Night Jazz & Blues. 8’S ENUFF. Powerful mini big band returns with some red hot horn players! 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM.
Sept. 9: SASKMUSIC SINGER/SONGWRITER AUTUMN SHOWCASE. This popular Sask singer/songwriter showcase series continues and will see another Tuesday night performance featuring three eclectic Saskatchewan artists showcasing their talents. Early show – 7:00 PM.

One Regina restaurant is grilling up hundreds of burgers leading up to the Labour Day Classic.
For over 30 years, Bushwakker Brewpub hosts a friendly battle of burgers — one Riders themed and the other Bombers themed.
“What we found was that the best-selling burger quite often was lining up with which team won the Labour Day Classic,” said Grant Frew, the bar and marketing manager at the restaurant. “That’s just a fun little superstition.”
The chef at the restaurant creates a new burger for each team every year.
For the three days leading up to the big game, Frew said the restaurant posts on social media how many burgers from each team are eaten.

This year’s Green and White burger has wild boar, Italian sausage and chuck beef in its patty, loaded with plenty of toppings including a signature charred green chili relish.

“I’m a Rider fan,” said Frew. “No doubt about it, but I do like my blue cheese. So it’s a divided loyalty.”
