BUSHWAKKER SEASONAL SUDS STATUS. Bushwakker head brewer, Michael Gaetz, reports our seasonally available POWERHOUSE PORTER, TREPHINATION IMPERIAL IPA, LEMON RASPBERRY ALE and BREW & GOLD DORTMUNTER EXPORT LAGER are currently available. There are also batches of KAI’S MUNICH HELLES, DOUBLE HONEY RED ALE, 30th ANNIVERSARY BLACKBERRY MEAD and MORK’S MEAD (our very first mead) currently working their way through the brewery.
Our Bushwakker Blackberry Mead 30th Anniversary is just a month away! To help commemorate this momentous milestone we have a couple of other special mead releases to mark the occasion. The very first Bushwakker mead was not Blackberry Mead, it was Mork’s Mead. A straight-forward mead made with just water, Lumsden Valley Honey and yeast. A very light gold, soft, sparkling and dry mead. It was named after our late founder’s loveable and ridiculously cross-eyed Siamese cat, Mork. Last Monday we had a great “kick off” to the week leading up to Saturday’s Rider Home Playoff game! Although Chef Mike jokes he is a die-hard BC Lions fan, he was more than happy to offer a sneak peek into his upcoming gourmet Lions Burger & a Pint feature with two members of our Green & White, Nelson Lokombo and Malik Carney. Well, the weather for this time of year has been delightful. In fact, it has been so balmy that last weekend’s social media post regarding the November 15th Year One Dewdney Avenue Revitalization Project wrap-up target date, is no longer a certainty. The seasonable temperatures will instead be embraced and road construction will continue as long as the weather permits. Hang in there folks, the fluffy white stuff will blow in before you know it and all those orange pylons and signs and fences will go away until next spring! Can’t wait for 2026! Dewdney is going to look great in another 18 months. Until then the scene…remains…lean! Don’t let those nasty pylons scare you.

Nov. 1: FIRST FIRKIN FRIDAY. Enjoy the pomp and circumstance of this longstanding Bushwakker monthly tradition! A piper from The Regina Police Services Pipes & Drums leads a keg (the firkin) of special ale throughout the pub in a procession. A guest volunteer tapper is selected to wield the handmade wooden maul affectionately named, The Mighty Firkin Wakker, and attempts to tap the keg in one mighty blow! The November firkin offering is a CHOCOLATE – INFUSED PALLISER PORTER. The suds-soaking spectacular takes place at 5:30 PM.
Nov. 2: SASK VS. BC. Wakkerville is excited to see the Riders host a home playoff game! Stop by before or after the game and enjoy the camaraderie of the Sea of Green! Come park your vehicle in the massive free parking lot just east across the street, enjoy our gourmet game day LIONS BURGER & A PINT Special and then grab a free shuttle to the stadium. Nov. 6: MONTHLY ALES HOMEBREWING CLUB MEETING. This month’s presentation topics will focus on BROWN ALES and BIG BREW DAY BEERS as well as the BASIC MALT AND HOPS EVERY HOMEBREWER SHOULD HAVE IN THEIR BREWERY! If you are interested in getting into the art of home brewing or would like to improve your brewing skills, come to the Bushwakker basement clubroom at 7:00 PM and discover what the ALES Club can offer you. New members are always welcome!
Nov. 6: Wednesday Folk Night. BRADFORD. Talented acoustic duo featured Brad Papp and Mark Radford. 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM.
2024 Canada Beer Cup Winners Announced
The 2024 Canada Beer Cup saw 1,500 beers judged across various categories. Winners were announced at the BC Craft Brewers Conference on October 18.
The awards celebration supports provincial brewing guilds and their related conferences. This year’s Best of Show gold medal winner was Quark, Strangeness, Charm from Pile O’ Bones Brewing in Regina, Saskatchewan.

TIME OUT – Single Malt Life Lesson
A professor of chemistry wanted to teach his 5th grade class a lesson about the evils of alcohol, so he produced an experiment that involved a glass of water, a glass of single malt scotch and two worms. “Now, class. Observe closely the worms,” said the professor putting a worm first into the water. The worm in the water writhed about, happy as a worm in water could be.
The second worm, he put into the whisky. It writhed painfully, and quickly sank to the bottom, dead as a doornail.
“Now, what lesson can we derive from this experiment?” the professor asked.
Little Johnny, who naturally sits in back, raised his hand and wisely, responded…
“Drink whisky and you won’t get worms!”
