BUSHWAKKER SEASONAL SUDS STATUS. Bushwakker head brewer, Michael Gaetz, reports our seasonally available TREPHINATION IMPERIAL IPA, LEMON RASPBERRY ALE and BREW & GOLD DORTMUNTER EXPORT LAGER are currently available. There are also batches of KAI’S MUNICH HELLES, POWERHOUSE PORTER, GREAT PUMPKIN SPICED BROWN ALE, DOUBLE HONEY RED ALE, 30th ANNIVERSARY BLACKBERRY MEAD and MORK’S MEAD (think way back) currently working their way through the brewery.
Special Commemorative Bev Beer Launch this Saturday! Late Bushwakker founder and president, Bev Robertson, played a key role in bringing the Saskatchewan Science Centre to fruition 35 years ago. To celebrate this anniversary, Bev’s grandson and Bushwakker head brewer, Michael Gaetz, created a commemorative beer that would have made his grandfather smile. The beer that launched The Bushwakker was Bev’s 1986 national award-winning Palliser Porter. Bev was also a single malt scotch enthusiast. But what single malt could possibly be powerful enough to not be overwhelmed by the assertive roasty flavours of a robust porter? The answer is almost two and a half litres of Laphroaig 10 year old single malt scotch whisky infused with French oak. POWERHOUSE PORTER will be released in limited edition bottles on Saturday, September 21st at 11:00 AM sharp!

The City of Regina is launching a “Dewdney Open for Business” campaign to remind residents that despite ongoing construction, businesses in the Warehouse District are still open and ready to serve. Ads will be displayed on the digital billboard at Dewdney and Albert, with additional social media posts planned. The campaign will continue throughout September to maintain momentum. The Warehouse District is a vital part of our community, and Dewdney Avenue will soon feature improved sidewalks, lighting, outdoor spaces, and infrastructure to support future growth, including the redevelopment of “The Yards.” The city states they understand construction poses challenges for businesses, especially with long-term projects. The City also states they are committed to minimizing disruptions by maintaining access, providing temporary parking, adding traffic signals and signage, and ensuring ongoing communication with impacted businesses.

A New Initiative Supports Residents of Saskatoon in Entering the Brewing Industry
Saskatchewan’s 9 Mile Legacy Brewing has launched the LGCY Innovation Hub to assist new brewers in navigating industry hurdles. The initiative, which benefits both homebrewers and farmers, aims to attract more brewers to the craft industry.
According to Cassy Appelt, LGCY’s program coordinator, the new initiative may encourage even more brewers to enter the market.
Graham Kerr is the inaugural member of the LGCY Innovation Hub and a co-founder of Paradox Pizzeria & Brewing. The business will receive assistance with managing the logistical aspect of setting up its brewery by working closely with 9 Mile Legacy.
The initiative aims to bring the craft-brewing community together and encourage others to participate, despite the challenges faced by newcomers. The initiative is expected to attract more brewers and benefit both homebrewers and farmers.

Teacher: “Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Six.”
Teacher: “Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven!”
Teacher: “Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!”
Johnny: “Because I’ve already got a freaking cat!”
Hmmm…a cool cat and a Bushwakker fermented honey beverage? Who remembers this one from the early 90’s? We’re bringing it back as part of our 30th Anniversary Mead Celebration! December 7th will be here before you know it.
