SCIENCE PUB – DEMOCRATIC BACKSLIDING.
Our wildly popular Science Pub Series has returned for a 12th incredible season! Enjoy lectures on scientific topics of general interest in our Arizona Room over fine craft beer and award-winning pub cuisine. The room opens at 5:00 PM. Avoid disappointment and come down early for dinner and a pint before the presentation which begins at 7:00 PM. This month’s lecture will be presented by Arjun Tremblay, Assistant Professor, Department of Politics & International Studies from the University of Regina. Democratic backsliding is a term that was coined just a few years ago and it is quickly becoming a key issue of discussion and debate among social scientists. What does democratic backsliding mean? Why are we just now talking about it? How concerned should we be about the state of our democratic societies? Is there anything that we can do about it?
