This month’s lecture is presented by Dr. Zisis Papandreou and Dr. Julia Totosy de Zepetnek from the University of Regina. Energy is everywhere—from subatomic particles to the human body running at full speed. But how do we measure something we can’t see? Particle physicists use giant detectors to track the energy of particles, while exercise physiologists use heat, oxygen and even isotopes to measure the energy used by the human body. From E = mc² to VO₂max, discover the surprising connections between nuclear physics, metabolism and the limits of human performance.
