BUSHWAKKER REGULAR EVENTS CALENDAR
Monday Night Jazz & Blues: Live music every Monday night
Kick off your week with great live music every Monday night from 8:00PM to 10:30PM. Enjoy live jazz and blues acts in Regina's only regular live jazz & blues venue. Free admission.
Wednesday Night Folk: Live music every Wednesday night
Folk music isn't limited to an acoustic guitar, a lone voice and a campfire anymore. Enjoy local and touring solo artists, duos and bands playing a variety of musical genres from roots, bluegrass, alt-country to classic folk. 8:00PM to 10:30PM. Free admission.
First Firkin Friday: The first Friday of each month at 5:30 PM
Experience the pomp and circumstance surrounding our decades-old monthly tradition where a firkin (small keg) of fresh ale is paraded throughout the pub led by a piper from the Regina Police Services Pipes & Drums band. A volunteer is then selected to drive a tap into the firkin with a handmade wooden maul affectionately named, "The Mighty Firkin Wakker". A suds-soaking spectacle normally ensues and quite often the volunteer tapper and the spectators in near proximity receive a beer bath. If you have a special event you would like to commemorate by tapping the firkin, just email us at bar@bushwakker.com.
Monthly ALES Meetings: The first Wednesday of every month
If you have been thinking about getting into the art of home brewing or have been wanting to improve your skills as a home brewer, now is the time to act! New members are always welcome. Come join some of the most passionate and talented home brewers in the province and learn how to make better beer and how to appreciate better beer. A different brewing topic is presented each month. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00 PM in the Bushwakker basement clubroom.
Monthly Science Pub Series: The third Thursday of the month
Our wildly popular Science Pub Series has returned and has developed so that a larger segment of the university including health researchers will be involved to make the revitalized Science Pub even bigger and better! Presented by the Bushwakker Brewpub and the University of Regina Faculty of Science. Enjoy lectures on scientific topics of general interest in our Arizona Room (main floor banquet room) over beer and snacks. The room opens at 5:00 PM and quite often is full by 6:00 PM. Avoid disappointment and come down early for dinner and a pint before the one hour presentation which begins at 7:00 PM. Please note there are no presentations in the summer.
Annual Summer Connoisseur Beer Tasting Series
A special beer tasting theme night is held in The Bushwakker Arizona Room each summer. Generally eight to ten specialty imported beers are discussed and evaluated. Some previous themes include: Specialty Stouts, Sour & Wild Ales, The Beers of Belgium, Exotic Fruit Beers, Specialty IPAs, Abbey vs. Trappist Ales, Wheat Beer Wonders, Lovin’ the Lambics, Imperial Stouts, Imperial IPAs and Big Bad Barleywines!
